Our Story

Riverside Building Supplies Ltd was established in 2001 by Iain Armstrong, originally operating as a timber merchant from modest premises in Maldon, Essex. More than 25 years later, timber remains at the heart of our business.

Now based at Riverside House in Heybridge, we have grown considerably, investing in our people, machinery and facilities to become a specialist timber supplier with extensive in-house machining and manufacturing capabilities.

We stock and supply a comprehensive range of softwoods, hardwoods, sheet materials and timber products, serving customers throughout the South East.

Our modern in-house machining facilities allow us to cut, mould and machine timber to meet individual customer requirements. From skirting, architrave and mouldings to cladding, planed timber and bespoke profiles, we can manufacture products to precise specifications in a wide variety of timber species.

Whether working from a drawing, sample or existing piece of timber, our experienced team can reproduce existing profiles or help create something completely bespoke. Our investment in modern high-performance machinery enables us to offer accuracy, consistency and production capacity across everything from individual requirements to large-volume orders.

Alongside our specialist timber operation, Riverside has continued to expand its range of building materials, fixings, tools and associated products. Our dedicated Trade Counter, located alongside our main site in Heybridge, provides trade and DIY customers with convenient access to thousands of everyday building and construction essentials.

Today, Riverside Building Supplies combines the knowledge and personal service of an independent timber merchant with the machinery, manufacturing capability and distribution network required to best serve it's customers.
